Welcome to
 St. Mary's in the Mountains

A Community of Faith, Helping Our Neighbors and Celebrating God's Good News.

St. Mary's in the Mountains, located at 13 East Main Street in Wilmington, Vermont, is an Episcopal community which welcomes all to our communion.  Whether you're a long-time resident of Deerfield Valley, a weekend or summer resident, or someone just visiting the area; whether you're a long-time communicant within the Episcopal faith, someone exploring different faith options, or just looking for a warm and peaceful place to rest, we invite you to join us for our service every Sunday at 10 a.m., and in our many other activities.

Regardless of who you may be, or where you may be on your path, you are most welcome at St. Mary's.

and News
  • We welcome the Consecration of Vermont's 11th Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Shannon MacVean-Brown.  We are blessed to have her guidance for our Diocese and Parish.

  • On November 26, we will host a Thanksgiving Community Dinner at 3 p.m.  St. Mary's community dinner is open to all, and we wish to welcome especially those who may be alone or are in need.  Because we can comfortably seat 40 people, reservations are strongly recommended.  If you or someone you know wishes to join us, please make a reservation by calling our Warden, Dick Ward, at 802-464-8480 and leaving a message with the name, number in party and telephone number.

  • Our Fourth Annual Red Door Community Carol Sing is December 14, 2019.  Beginning at 3:30 p.m., our doors will open for our pre-sing along entertainment.  Then, starting at 4 P.M., we'll have an afternoon of carols and songs of the season for all to sing, along with musical interludes from some of the Valley's musicians.  Treats and surprises will be in store as well.  Free will donations will benefit the Pettee Library.  Check back for more details, but plan on joining us for our annual celebration of the Season.

  • Our Christmas Eve Service is at 6 p.m.  Please join us on December 24 to celebrate and praise the birth of our Savior.

  • Sue Maddern, our Music Director, is putting together our bell choir, to perform music, including Bells of St. Mary's.  If you are interested -- even if you're not a member of our Parish -- please let us know.  You can speak with Sue at a service, or send an email to Sue at smaddern@myfairpoint.net.

  • We will, once again, be hosting a New Year's Eve Community Supper.  Check back for details.

  • We have set up a Parishioners' Page on the website.  If you are a member of our Parish and would like to be able to access minutes and other info. on line, please email our webmaster (fortner1@comcast.net) or see a Vestry member to learn how to access.

  • Evangelism and Discicipleship are going to be vital parts of our ministry in the upcoming year.  We'll have some exciting news soon about what our Parish is doing to bring God's message to our local community.

  • Every first Monday of the month from 10:45 to noon, volunteers from Taking Steps Brattleboro are here to offer free Advance Care Planning.  More information can be found here.
